Games for dementia - similar to Pictionary etc.? - card games dementia
Looking for games (or games) designed for the mother's level of dementia, similar to Pictionary or Guess Who. This should not rely on a wide knowledge of facts and information, but to the "transcultural" types of games.
For example, you land in a crop picture somewhere in a remote island, where a person not familiar with trivialities. Imagine a game with one of the inhabitants of this island.
I'm not saying that the lack of innate intelligence.
Instead, the facts and the absence will be trivia.
These people profit Pictionary (once the cards from the elements that are familiar).
Perhaps Guess Who.
I would also appreciate further suggestions for games to play with her mother, because my life experience gave me the opportunity to play many games with others, so I have no idea. Thank you!

Hey, look at me, that residents have dementia in a nursing home and a wide range of games that they enjoy
* Memory Card Games - Square or down card and that the couple - some residents that it is a bit complicated, so insert it into the right position to attract and couples.
* Solitaire
* SNAP (postcards, or a standard letter)
* 50 Puzzle - 100PC
* Bowling Bridge Bowls/bocce/10 (good for physiotherapy and can be played seated)
* Connect 4 (this is a real favorite)
* Made a game where u have a game of cards with a letter of the alphabet in any other set of cards with questions like "things were in the garden," or something to eat an animal, "etc., or turn a letter card and a card at subway and think how many answers to questions that begin with that letter. For example, "animal" and "C - cats, camels, caterpillars, etc., etc.
These games are quite simple, but Im not sure that it be useful, but good luck:)
Did you know your mother, what games you like or do not remember in which game? You can also use with their brothers and sisters or friends to check to see if the games that remind her mother appreciated.
Here are some suggestions to try:
Chinese Checkers, dominoes, pick-up sticks, Jacks (playing at a table with plastic and larger), apples to apples, a version of the game of onboard memory, Yahtzee, Outburst, nonsense, Scattergories.
Card games, war, poker, spades, 500 Rummy
Name of song songs (hymns, patriotic songs of the 40s, 50s, 60s, song / lyrics Camp / folk)
Puzzle-500 or 1000 pieces. There are some nice 3 D puzzles are fun to build.
Wii: Bowling, golf, etc.
Cards, tokens, I'm sorry, Word searches and crosswords for the great memories! Issue. They are easy and fun. PDB your shows who wants to be a millionaire. You can try to test your memory to answer questions.
Crossword easy. Concentration. Take a deck of cards. Separate flat on a table or on the ground, and select two, try to remember this party. Start with just a few cards, buy a globe and draw the two countries. Ask him to recall the events from his past. It is easier for patients with dementia. These are the latest incidents seem to escape. Spelling games. Flash memory cards. Coloring pounds.
Not only games, there are a lot of things that generate the attention. Many nursing homes enjoy card games like go fish, throw a ball into a sitting position, such as volleyball goes, give a little activity, arts such as painting or playdough. Many projects, craft or art can be found on the Internet, so that Christmas decorations or learning macrame or crochet knit.
My favorite for the elderly is Scrabble. Second, look for the word puzzle. Both have an element of surprise and tend to interest the reader what happens in dementia.
All other cities are good, especially puns, but they are all good.
Apart from these games, I recommend the games they are known or can be used to play. Perhaps games like cribbage, skat, or Rummy? I know this is not exactly what you want, but if she loved him before that date he was probably still like them.
Perhaps you can try different versions of bingo ... Cards with (or without) images or words in them.
I am not very familiar with the games. A game that is taboo! comes to mind, but it can be difficult for his mother.
Singing songs is a good way to refresh your memory. It took me a choir were residing in a nursing school and a long-term residents with dementia able to remember these songs, but only the melody and not the letter, she immediately. I could not say where they were or to the toilet, but the old songs back to them memorable and very enjoyable. The choir was very successful, and the house has hired someone to come once every two weeks.
WordGame ARand is good: an adequate level of crossword puzzles, have a relatively long time and try to have your mother, so many words with three letters refer to the word, as it may, puzzles, words, perhaps a bit chaotic.
I am thrilled, but dementia is a subject very dear to me. So I wanted to offer further suggestions for activities ... They always send me a message if you speak, or anything related to dementia want to ...
